The interior photos (from car show pics) have me wondering something... did a Beaumont ever come with wood grain dash around the gauges? Not that it looks bad, just haven't seen that before. Or maybe I have but it never dawned on me because I haven't seen two dashes next to each other. My guess is that it is from a GTO. Once again, I hope to get educated on this. Thanks in advance fellas!
It depends on the year. A woodgrained dash was optional on the U.S. Lemans & GTO and would fit a 67 but was not offered in Canada. As far as I know, the woodgrained dash was optional on the 1968 Beaumont SD396 only.

Optional at extra cost ,woodgrain instument panel with instument panel guages and tachometer

It does sound like thats the case. Any member have a U14 car with out the wood grain ? It might say more about this option in the Gm package given out by vintage vehicle service. Lots of good info in those pages. In 69 U14 shows available for Deluxe coupes with Z25, V8 Custom sport coupes or convertibles only. Wonder if the same in 68.
funny, I just had a conversation with Rob from London On. about this very topic. This is the same conclusion we came up with, just with less profesional help...hahaha.
The 67 is a one owner car. Sorry, I'm terrible with names and I don't remember the owners name. I first saw the car in Grand Island NY at the Can-Am show but never talked to the owner. I saw him again last year at the Ohio Chevelle show. We parked together at the show. He worked at a car dealership when he bought the car. He actually drove it off of the delivery truck. He drives the car all over Canada and the US to shows. James
The dash was definately available in 68 as my SD has one and is likely one of the most original in the country. My car has never been apart, much less seen in the last 25 years as it has been in my garage since 1986. No, it doesn't need to be restored; it only has 75,000 miles on it however the paint faded and its not as pretty as it should be. Maybe next year.
