I always wanted to have a 68 SD-396 convertible. My wife told me that if I wanted to drive with the top up all the time or by myself it would be alright. I sold my 68 SS396 convertible and bought a 68 SS396 hardtop. When I found my 69 SD that car was sold as well. A year after I got my 69 my wife decides she would like a convertible...........go figure. So now I guess it's OK to have a convertible. I keep buying 4 speed hardtop cars My wife can't drive a standard but she can drive a convertible (automatic).
So if I could only have one. I would have to say convertible.
As much as I enjoy driving with the roof down, some of my most enjoyable drives have been on hot days, with the roof up and all the windows down including the big rear window. Like being in a shaded wind tunnel. Priceless...

Picture driving to work early in the morning with the sun coming up on a country road with top down. A coffee cup in my hand listing to Guns and Roses ( paradise city), sorry hands down the convertible over a HT.
I like the roof lines of the full size 63-64. with the windows down ,it's kind of like a convertable with out the sunburn. My older brother has a 68 442 convert with 455. (white on white).when he drives in to wpg from edmonton I insist on topdown. so sometimes it just depends on the car style.

I would love to have a convertible ,but I mostly enjoy the cove back rear window of a 67 . If a convertible would top up as that I would be in dream heaven.

Haha, mines opposite. Listening to paradise city in a hardtop and no coffee
The convertible guys are bouncing back.
I don't even like my cars with a sunroof!! how about you guys?
No fair poll as where's the Post car box?. Seriously, I don't care much for Converts and would always choose a Post car over a Hardtop any day!. The holiday's over fellas so strap on your belts...this B-Pillar may be useful if we end up on the roof!.

Hardtops look great, for sure, but I've owned convertibles for over 40 years and would not be without one. Top-down driving cannot be beat, IMHO.
Says the guy from Florida! Around here, there are a couple days a year when a rag top would be terrific. Otherwise, not so much...
I love a rag top when cruising through the mountains in BC. Taking one over Logan's Pass in Glacier National Park should be on everyone's Bucket List.
Also going spring skiing with the roof down and the ski's sticking up out of the back seat! (I've got a picture of that somewhere from back in the day when I drove the car 365 days a year.)
PS Agreed that we don't always have the best weather up here, but on those days the roof can/does go up... (When I drove the kids to the first day of school this week, at their insistance the roof went down and the heater went on!)

Definetely a hardtop. No risk of sunburn on your head, stereo sounds better, heater is more effective, and the confident feeling you have of having a roof over your head just like in your pickup. It's an easy choice for me.
Where's the one of each button??? They both have their pluses, so I have 1 of each. The rag top is great for those scenic drives and that wind in the hair feeling, nothing compares to that. The hard top is nice and tight no rattles or flexing and holds the horsepower better, so more fun for playing. I started with the hardtop, and then my wife decided she wanted 1 just like mine, only the top had to go down, who was I to argue, now we have the best of both worlds.
