I agree, I also feel lucky not to be pinched more by the Gov. I know the old winter truck I had would never have passed.

The WORST  Premier Ontario ever had was Mike Harris. but the BEST premier we ever had was Bill Davis except for his big mistake of the school board issue. Bob Rae took over when the country  and Ontario was in  the worst recession since the Great depression and did an OK job for the situation he was in.

I have to agree on your point that McQuinty is the second worst. But in reality Ray, do you think any politician will ever lower their own wages and benefits  that are already in place.

What we need now is for Northern Ontario to split from Southern Ontario. The way the Liberals are determined to make Northern Ontario one great big park and stop all exploration and logging will be totally devestating to the survival of jobs for future generations in the north. We have most of the natural resourses for the long term survival of human beings and if we split will make lots of money exporting  our natural resources with water being the most important one.

I have voted in every election, federal , provincial, and municipal since I attained the voting age and not one candidate has kept their promises. I am so fed up with politicians and their self centered right to their own entiltement of high pay , benefits, gigantic pensions, and patronage appointments I can honestly say I am considering just destroying my ballot in the next elections. By doing this I will not have a right to criticize the elected officials and probably do myself a lot of good by just ignoring what they are doing.

Al, by going and taking your ballot and not marking any candidate and placing that in the ballot box you are voting in my opinion...for nobody, and that gives you the right to speak you mind and offer constructive critisicm.

There is no question I feel like I live on an Island here in Toronto. I too have never missed any election since I was 18 and I can say 100% that my choice in candidates has never won in my riding.

I have to say though that something remarkable happened yesterday. My eldest daughter sent Jack Layton an e-mail about the gun registry and the associated domestic violence issue that goes along with that.

Jack Layton himself called my home to speak with Kathryn. I was very impressed by that.

Thank %&*$ my car is an 87! It would be tough to get it through with the dumps! The're factory, but does anyone think it would matter? Canada=Communism! Where the few can implement their will on the many! Don't we have more important things to worry about than hobby car's and how many more pennys can get sucked out of the pockets? Geeze, people have to stop bending over and taking it! STOP VOTING LIBERAL! Not to hard to figure it out.

Wow, Ray that is impressive. I guess Mr Layton has not forgotten his grass roots! Congrats to your daughter for taking a personal interest in the gun registry.

Jack spends every weekend in the riding and I'd have to say that calling my daughter and taking the time to discuss the issue with a young Canadian, explaining to her his rationale for not manadating a vote among his party, and generally being a very decent guy on the phone with her earned him a great deal of respect from me.

Hey Kevin, about the part year sticker renewal, the license office here in town said they still can do it. They told me to come in in Nov. when mine expires and tell them you want the plates UNATTACHED from the vehicle. Then in summer you get them attached again, and only pay for the portion remaining till your birthday. Going to try that this year.
Anyone else heard of this?? Hope it works.

I've always thought Jack was likely a decent guy.  Just figured he leaned way to far left for my liking.  Always thought he'd have my vote if he were a tory!
