Cool car but to be specific this car is an Impala SS w/ a 427 not an SS427 Z24 car which would have the domed hood etc..

One thing cool is the L36 427 was the top dog engine for the '67 cars as the L72 wasn't available as an RPO (although a few '67 L72 cars were produced as engineering cars).

Love the X24 option noted on the GM Vintage paperwork!.

Wait a minute... those documents don't show a SS427 at all.

They show an Impala SS with a 427.

The pre delivery inspection/checkover before the customer can take delivery of his new car.

This guy must have gone to get it at the factory and drove home.

So, that option would have to be ordered when the order went in for the car? He must have sat with the salesman and ordered that specifically knowing he was going to pick it up in Oshawa...

Yes, the 64 409 I saw had the paperwork for factory pick up with its documents.

Oh ya, isn't the asking price a little off?

Yes, Oshawas delivery was an option that had to be specified on the order. It used to save the buyer money. GM eventually eliminated the savings for that. I can't recall exactly when but I am going to say that when I was at the GM parts managers annual convention and toured the plant (I think it was 97 or 98) I recall the delivery area still being active at that time.

I started working at a GM dealership in 1980 and at that time it was not at all uncommon for a customer to order a new car and pick it up at the plant. Over the years we also ordered a number of medium duty (3 ton) trucks and drove them back as well.

80 Citation was the first year I believe. Not that it matters!!!

Fun times. I forget exactly what the criteria was but the year I went I hit some kind of objectives and abut 1/2 my trip was paid for by GM. That made my boss happy!

Did you look close at the engine code note the absence of the "T" Tonawanda engine code.  This engine came from a different plant.

Good catch!

I bet that's a mistake. A person would be crazy to forge GM Canada documents. It's too easy to prove they are fake.

Talked to the seller of the car a year or 2 ago. Possibly has the original motor, block was decked.  The car was done with the poor quality repro lower patch panels. Would be a sweet car when done though.

Ok, am I right in thinking the gold car wouldn't have had those fender emblems and hood when assembled? I think I may have asked this same question a while back when a picture of that car was posted, but I'm over 50 so I'm allowed to ask it again!

That is assuming that the document above the picture is for that exact car.
