64 Custom Sport Grilles

I was at the Sunderland Fair last night & an elderly couple had their 64 C/S there, beautifull car but I noticed the grill in their car is totally different than a "normal" 64 it didn't curve out on the ends out towards the h/lamps & where it curved out on nose centre piece, the grille was "solid" no space between the bars. Almost looked a 63?? grille or maybe a G/P grille??? Was the C/S grille different???

Another curious thing I have noticed over the decades is that several otherwise stock 1964 Parisienne Custom Sports had the rectangular simulated driving lights in the grille like the U.S. Grand Prix. Was this a dealer or factory option, or was it owner added?

A "Genuine" Canadian 1964 Custom sport had the the same grill at the '64 U.S. Grand Prix.  (the second picture (black car) on this thread)

The red car does not have the custom sport 2 piece painted headlight bezels.  (They are chrome ,.. which did NOT come on a factory custom sport,.. ever)

Did it have buckets and console and wide chrome?
If not ,... then it's  the "custom sport-erized" model which was a avilable for $15.76 from the dealer by installing the custom sport badges after the car was purchased.  wink.gif
