We were out on the lake a couple of weeks ago and snapped a few pictures of some of the houses along the lake.  A friend of mine is building the one with the crane beside it and it is 34,000 sq. ft.  He's been on it for 4 years and I think they have just started drywall now.  Another one shown has an elevator for you to go up to the garage.  The one that stretches out like a hotel is owned by a German couple and they've spent at least 5 years building it, it's about 15,000 sq. ft. The one on the rock is the one I showed us doing the  foundation for a year ago and they are just about to move in.  The one picture is taken inside showing how close the stairs came to clearing the rock to get down to the lower level. The nice back yard and dock is where we have been this summer so it's been refreshing to just jump off the dock when we get hot.  Captain Canuck, Trevor Linden is our next door neighbour there and that is his boat in the shot going down the lake.  Has been an interesting summer.

Well we sure are thankful there are these type of people and they continue to do their thing because it sure creates alot of employment here in the valley.  It hasn't affected them in the same way at all.

Very Nice Jerel, thanks. Looks a lot like Muskoka homes here in Ontario. Nice to know millionaires spend their money.

Carl,
Now do you understand why I was looking at lake property in Ontario? There are so many Alberta guys with money who head to the Okanogan and make it impossible for the average guy.

The thing that makes me average in Alberta is that the guys building those giant lake homes are my bosses.  There are guys in Calgary that earn 7 figure incomes.  I'll never come close to that.

If I recall, Gary, you don't play with only one toy! biggrin

I'm blind cause I'm so madly in love with Northwestern Ontario. To me, it's still the most beautiful place in the world!

Gotta say though, BC sure does look fine...

The worst part of this is this is only a very few homes along lake front, theres 1000s just as fancy up and down the valley, what I want to know is where does the money come from, they can`t all be pro football and hockey players! confuse

Oil and gas has lined the pockets of many people in Alberta. I'm guessing that is where they all coming from.

There is quite a variety of owners that I have met.  Oil and gas guys have a few but there are alot of different business owners there.  Few doctors, dentists, odd accountant, and some people who just had really good foresight.  You have to member that land wasn't very expensive 20 years ago.
