..this is full-low..can't drive it at this height..only for showing...big tires will hit fenderwells...car also has wheel spacers which make the turning issue worse..
..this is an original unmolested car..the suspension was pretty shot though..now Firestone bags all round, relocated shocks in the front (all bracketry came w/kit), upper/lower ball joints etc., so she's pretty tight now...
..us too..for some reason those big '63/4's look great slammed. The US models like the Catalina had that real low "Wide-Track" look. We did it with spacers!
...and with big wheels you can't have the car sit too high or it looks like a kiddy-car. There's a guy out here with an otherwise-very-nice '67 Beaumont that has like 22's on it and it sits way up in the clouds. Unfortunately its a nice car that now looks ridiculous 'cause of the ride height.. Before doing this stuff it's best to check out some magazines or some Chip Foose projects or something to see how a car should look after certain modifications like larger wheels.
I have mine low too with the widetrack stance... the old school way. I cut 1 1/2 coils out of a stock set of springs ( not Custom sport springs ) and added the Super ET's 8 1/2 " out back and 7's up front.
WE have to compare measurements... like I said , I'm considering baggin mine, engine driven compressor, small tank and firestone bags on the cheap.

..thanks guys..Rog, your car is very nice. I really like the hardtops also and and yours looks great with the white top. In reply to locomotion, our car is original Tuxedo Black. Only modification from originaloriginal that we are sure of on this car is that it's been painted once (by the last owner - "OK" but not well so it's going to be redone..). Engine as far as we can determine is a 283. All signs point to it but on a current 58-64 Power Train thread we have an interesting discussion going as it has Camel Hump heads and there's some conjecture as to whether they came original on the car or were added...or was it a 327?...all GM documentation says 283/195 and when we got it it had 2 bbl. & single exhaust (not OEM for '64 327) and we think the engine is original. So 283/195 seems like the best bet. It's now got Holley 600 - 4bbl./Edelbrock man., electronic ign. and duals w/Cherry Bombs..and as per that other Muffler thread, to my mind with these semi-stock older cars I think Cherry Bombs are a super-sounding, extremely inexpensive way to go. We have 3" chrome extensions exiting behind the rear wheels. We were going to have them go straight out the back but then they'd scrape on my son's underground parking ramp, so we opted for behind the rear wheels...my son loves this car and has a ton of fun in it...

I completely understand your comments about fenderwell clearance. My inner fendewells required heavy modification to clear front tires at full slam. I only made matters more challenging wIth 9" wide rims and 255 tires in front - I've actually retained some steering abilities at slammed stance.
...as long as we don't drive it at full low it's pretty easy around town and we can turn it pretty well. In fact you can't fully deflate the bags or you'll ruin them. The system has 3 separate settings that you can pre-program ride height into with a remote. Only issue right now is we don't have a reserve tank and the raising/lowering process is a little slow (about a minute). So if you need to get it up fast (i.e. speed bump or underground ramp) it takes a bit longer than we would like. So we're going to add a reserve tank, maybe over the winter, which makes it virtually instantaneous...
i sooo want to bag mine!! If i can get the bags and brackets cheap, then the rest i either have or can get/make. Or... i was just going to put some air shocks i have in the rear and slam it down and scrape it ! ??
where did you get the air bag set up for the car? did you use a kit or piece it all together. how hard was it to do and what was the cost? i would love to put mine on bags if i can afford it.
...the various pieces were put together by our mechanic, Mike, the owner of Chelli's Performance in North Vancouver. He got the bags separately (Firestone) but the installation hardware comes as a kit. It allows you to relocate the front shocks to the control arms 'cause you can't run 'em up thru the bags like you did with the coil springs!! Car is awesome on bags but we still have an issue with air leakage somewhere in the system that has to be rectified. One thing for sure - if you do a system yourself make sure you get an adequate compressor! Our first one was too small and blew itself up the first time we inflated the system! We have a big mother now..
Hello 64 rag, could you list the specific model of airbag that firestone has as well as the compressor, the meat wagon is getting airbag'd out back with disc brakes, not really sure if I'm gonna do discs on the front yet, it has heavy duty suspension with aluminum 15" meat cutter drums, so I'd like to leave that alone for a while. But it sure would look cool with it's azz draggin as it's gettin a Challenger T/A exhaust with flame throwers. Should sound really good with a 650hp, 468 stroker motor thru 3" pipes.
