I had heard on the suppertime news that the Avalon Peninsula was getting socked BIGTIME and 20,000 people are cut off from the rest of society as the roads are all washed out and they hydro is out as well. God be with you all whoever are affected by this ruthless storm! They sure are a hearty folk down east. Pretty much have to be given the obscure weather they get year-round!

How are our Newfoundland Poncho friends doing?
On the Weather Channel this morning it showed some wicked damage. One part of The Rock got 160 km. winds!
When I was in St. John about 10 years ago there were torrential rains and there is no place for the water to sink in, it just floods the streets, and goes down the rock enbankments in torrents.
This is the worst storm in Canada this year!

If this amount of damage would have happened in Southern Ontario, you wouldn't of heard the end of it!

I didn't but many people suffered great losses of property. The Trans Canada Highway is cut off in the middle of the Province due to road washout. Nothing coming in or going out right now.
