Even more amazing about these old photos is that some of those cars are still on the local cruise scene. The blown MG is still around Calgary.

Oh yes, please post them! Just seeing some of those cars takes me back to being a teenager in the 80's. Hope to see some other cars that we might recognize. Thanks for sharing them.

I just recognized a couple more out of that first set of pics. The purple Henry J used to be a regular at the track in Calgary back then too. It was a real crowd pleaser too because it was so short and went very fast. If I recall, it was high 7's or low 8's.
As well, I think the blue 57 camino is still around.

I BELIEVE THAT "EL CAMINO" WAS BUILT BY A FARMER IN THE THREE HILLS AREA. I SAW IT NOT TOO LONG AGO(CAN'T REMEMBER WHERE). IT USED TO CRUISE RED DEER QUITE OFTEN WHEN I WAS YOUNGER. I ALWAYS LIKED IT. IT WAS DONE VERY TASTEFULLY.

Yes that's Kevin's vette Mike. The 57 Camino is Ben Maerz's from Three Hills. He's a local farmer that does restorations on a lot of mid fifties, mid sixties stuff. He did the 57 many years ago, doing the transistion from a 2 door wagon.

The last time I seen the 57' Camino was at Super Run in Red Deer a couple years ago. By the way,I have a lot of photo's from that run as well if anyone is interested in seeing them.
