I think they're my originals.. if you look closely at some point you'll notice they're both rights.. need a lefty in the future.. but i'm going to buy new amber ones and mold them to cast some clear ones.. the film industry has been a great place for meeting people that do castings etc..
I know there was someone out your way doing canso grille and back up lights. I bought a set of back up lights off him for my brothers 64 Beaumont. I`m in for a couple of sets if you find someone.
There are tons of guys who have done complete restorations and set the odometers to zero. I have no issue with it at all. Wouldn't consider it tampering with the milage since most of the car is new. As well, I don't believe you would roll it back to zero if it was for resale of the car...it's your car and you plan to use it. What does it matter to the rest of the world?
Car is looking great Kelly! Gotta love those bumpers!
Kelly, you could put Volkswagon Beetle hubcaps on that thing and it would look great!!! All kidding aside though, I think the stock wheel covers on the 65 SD are really cool and if you have them, they'd still be my pick.
I had missed the odometer part after I posted last, but no, I'd say nothing wrong with setting it back. I'd just tell people I did it. Besides, if the car was close to 100,000 miles it would have done it for you anyway.

The torque thrust wheels look great Kelly. I like those wheels quite a bit. On your car though, I'm partial to the wheel covers. Why.... because the 65 SD wheel cover is one of the nicest made by GM in my opinion and your car is so perfect that it would look great with them on. It is really up to you though. They are not easy to find in good condition.
I really like the factory caps too. But mine are all pretty "rashy" and I'm going to take a break from shoveling money at it for awhile. The wheels on the car in the photos are the restoration guys, so They come off as soon as the alignment and appraisal is done this week. then maybe... 14" rally's to drive it, and then I can put the caps on when she sits still.. LOL
anyone have advice for insurance in BC? We dont have "titles" in Alberta, so I dont even know what that means. I'm going to register and insure it here in Calgary before I come to BC, so will that help or hinder?
Hey Kelly Glad to hear that it will be arriving here soon. As for the insurance thing here in BC it is a little bit of work. Once you reg and ins in Alberta you can bring the car home. You will have to have the car inspected for safety and then off to the auto plan agent. Once that is all done you can insure it here in BC. If they say you need aircare tell them where to go as it hasnt been registered in BC. I reccomend going to aircare after that though and then go back to autoplan and get the collector application. It is about 275 a year to insure only stipulation is cant drive it to work. Hope that helps
