I thought you guys would want to see pictures of the construction of my new garage. After 2 weeks of work , the walls and roof are up.

It will be so cool to finally have SPACE! :)

You can see the pictures on my website on the Sept 29th and Oct 6th updates

I sure do like the height. Possibly room for a hoist, maybe?

Hi Invader,

Yep, the hoist is already in the plan + I will have a 12x14 mezzanine and a 6x12 storage space between the thrusts.

I just can't wait to finish it and park the Pontiac in there! :)

awesome looking addition. can i recommend that you put an I-beam in. i put one in, fully supported in the walls. i have lifted a 69 caprice off the trailer and pulled the trailer out. since my garage is 30 ft long i put it 10 toward the doors and still use it with the door open. so if i lifted an engine i could push the car out or back or take the engine sideways. one of the better things i've done in the shop.

this is a shot where i lifted a bike engine onto a table.

Thanks guys,

Sorry I am not updating you more often.. too much going on with the garage. ;)

Interior is almost done and if it stops raining maybe I'll be able to finish the exterior before the snow!!

New pictures added on my website

Nicely Done!  Beside being useful, it  has obviously enhnaced your property values unlike mine!

Hi Elroy,

The floors were professionally epoxy-coated. A bit expensive but my concrete slab is protected for life.

When I built mine in 2006 I had the floor "epoxyed" as well. Makes any clean up of a spill a "snap"HPIM0310.JPGHPIM0213.JPGboth cars.jpg

Steve, looks great! Does anyone have trouble with tires sticking to the epoxy paint and pulling it up ? Pete, has yours lasted ?

Never had that happen, tires squeak when you roll across it. This is a commercial floor done by "Stone Hard" They do floors in GM Oshawa, Hospitals Etc.  Costly but I think it's better than the TV ones. Took them 4 days to do it, many process's & curing time.

Hi Elroy,

As Pete said, this is commercial epoxy, which is a lot stronger than the epoxy paints sold at Rona or Can Tire.

Mine is too fresh to tell yet, but I don't really see how it could peel off.

Hey Steve, did your garage look like it was "on fire" when the epoxy was being put down?? The fumes & vapour were unreal when they did mine, guys were wearing "spaceman" suits when they did mine with resperators!! I stayed well back when this was going on. They also "ground" the surface of the fresh concrete w/diamond tipped grinder, before they started anything else, said if you don't do that the 1st step won't work, no bond to floor!!!

Yes Pete,

They did the same thing here. That concrete grinding sure makes a lot of dust!!

Good thing the Pontiac was stored somewhere else :)
