Fantastic car! Having great photography helps a lot with the presentation and I have noticed a trend lately to stage cars much the same way upscale houses are staged to aid in a speedy and profitable sale. Looked at one auto brokers web site yesterday (in the States) who offers this service in a photo studio that looks like it came right out of the Speed Channel. All the power to 'em, when many people are purchasing a high ticket item, they want to be coddled.

GULP! But it's not even a convertible! LOL! What an absolute beaut though! Born the same year as I was and it's in far better shape I might add.

Wow, you are not kidding! That car is really, really nice. It has the correct shifter details and the correct 348 front grille badge. The wheels look larger than stock (which is a good thing) yet they are very subtle. A beautiful restoration, indeed! That stupid "Caution Fan" sticker that I see on so many GM cars really irks me though. GM never used them; it is a Ford decal! That doesnt stop all these restoration supply vendors from selling them. People see them on restored cars and are impressed by how original it looks. Repeat a mistake often enough and people will begin to accept it as a fact.

Back around 1982/83 there was for sale in the Canadian Old Car Auto Trader a 1960 Bel Air Sport Coupe (hardtop version) of a car that looked like that. It had a 235 Powerglide though, but it also had immaculate original paint and only 13,000 original miles. It also ran fender skirts but they werent gaudy or ugly. As luck would have it a guy that lived a few blocks away from me bought it so I got to see it up close. It was Tuxedo Black with perfect blue original interior. He managed to fit a set of 15x8 Corvette Rally Wheels in the wheelwells. Perfect! He sold the car in the fall of 1983 with 19,000 miles on it.

I also remember a really nice 1959 Bel Air 2-door post in my hometown around 1979. It was Tuxedo Black with a white 2-tone on the roof & trunk lid. It was a Florida car with the dark blue-green window tint. It was also running Corvette Rally wheels. I wanted to buy that car so badly but all I could afford was a Yamaha DT125 (my first bike).
