  I finally caught a picture of the Blue Jay that visits the bird feeder. Theres usually 2 of them, but I've never been able to get a picture.  I also get a lot of chicadees and finches, and theres a squirrel that hangs around for the seeds that they drop

Very cool but be careful that squirrel doesn't make your attic home!

Funny, this afternoon I discovered we have at least 5 kittens (stray cat living in an old shed) and debated posting pics online. I love that kind of stuff but was scared you guys would all think I was a sissy!!!

This morning no less than 8 deer feeding 30 feet from my bedroom window.

Two weeks ago I picked up an ailing hawk and brought him to the house but he was too far gone and died a couple of hours later.

I love the wildlife part of living on the farm.

I've always liked watching wildlife, and when I rented this house there was a bird feeder hangin from the pine tree in front. I bought bird seed and the BlueJays were one of the first birds to appear. Didn't see much of them during the summer, but with them and the chickadees hanging around I'm thinking winter must be coming...
And I don't consider posting pics of wildlife "sissy" LOL And I would hope no-one else would either.

First are the Turkey vultures. There are 6 or 7 mating pairs in the Okanagan valley. I sneaked down through the orchard and got to within 40 feet of them before they flew off.

Earlier in June, this family of weasels passed through. They spent about an hour playing in the yard before moving off. A mother and 4 young. My cat came nose to nose with one of the young.

A huge variety of bird life. This is a major migratory route, so you'll see some birds for only a few days in spring and fall.
This is a Flicker, similar to a woodpecker. They stay year round.

We constantly have to knock down barn swallow nests as they build on the house. This swallow was smarter and built in an old shed.
