My son tells me a good tale a senior officer told him. It was a slow night so they went in search of a better cup of coffee. They were out of their area by about 20 minutes drive enjoying a cup of Joe. All of a sudden a call comes in and they have to get back to their patrol area plus get to the call. The tale goes that they made it is 8 minutes, it's a bit of a legend in those parts. I've driven the route they took, and it is surprisingly straight runs. I believe it can be done but boy you wouldn't be lifting off too much. Red and blue lights help too. Anyway the tale is told to the young ones so they won't go looking for better coffee.
