well went to winnipeg last wek getting my front bumper done it may even be 50.00 less than my back one good deal; well in winnipeg took extra pieces to chrome 2 head light bezels 2 mirrors 2 door handles the house of silver wanted 750.00 $ chrome pit wanted 360.00 i thought it over and figured it was to much i'll wait and buy some off of ebay or someplace. do you guys think it was to much just second guessing myself now
For comparison purposes. I saw an NOS set of '65 headlite bezels at Hershey last weekend. They were marked $450. As soon as my buddy started to chuckle the vendor lowered the price to $200. They may have been NOS but they had been moved around a lot and had marks on them.
In the fall of 1996 i had Cambridge Custom Chrome do all of my chrome on my 1957 Pontiac. Including all the pot metal items that were in good non pitted condition. The 1996 price $4,200. I could not begin to imagine what it would cost today. Two other high quality platers at the time were asking more than this. I am real happy with the work Cambridge did and i would recomend them to any one. As of 2010 my chrome still looks fabulous. They are in Cambridge, Ontario. Any one can do bumpers but try doing real fragile pot metal scripts and emblems, that is the sign of a quality plater. Cheers. George.

The chrome pit did mine and I am happy with their work. My pot metal script was in 3 pieces with no studs left. They made the look like new and for about half the cost of house of silver.

There was a chrome shop just along the road from me for a while that just recently closed it's doors. Rumors I heard was that the owner had had enough of paying most of his profits in EPA permits.
