Thank God I live in safe Toronto and Ontario has 6 out of 10 of the safest places, one being the area where our cottage is.  biggrin

These stats are based on per capita, and they look a little dated (Saskatoon has been worse than Regina for a couple of years running).

Prince George and Victoria only have around 80,000 people, so 1 murder, a couple stolen cars and a peeping tom gets compared to the bi-monthly murders happening in Winnipeg with a population over 600,000.

... as I take a "stab" at Winnipeg. smile

If you take away the per capita, who has the most crime ?  Like to see those stats.

I'm surprised winnipeg scored so low? confuse... just happened to have read the latest 2009 statscan CSI index for crime in todays paper....

Winnipeg is #1 for violent crime  disbelief
Manitoba is #2, SK #1 for Crime Severity Index  no
Winnipeg, highest robbery rate, 26% increase from 08 to 09 bleh

so there it is, i think Victoria can be considered safe again... smile

ak (#1 in emoticon use, this thread) wink

I just read today that many of the towns in the Arctic (Inuvik being one of them) had even higher crime rates. It's a tough environment to live in.

Well doesn't sound like it is that safe around here. We're at number 6 in the land. I heard a comment that the 1.2 million visitors every year can change things a little bit too. Some of them like to get a little rowdy and some like to stay here but don't really want to go to work. I guess just have to keep your head up and your stick on the ice.

ya but. the car doesn't start when you turn the key, but the dog run gate opens to let the two rotties out to feed. and then they bury the bones throughout the neighbourhood .
