Welcome to the site, and that you for bringing another one back. What a nice lightweight car with great styling and Canadian pedigree.
A V8 Maverick eh? The Pro Stockers used them a lot in the early seventies because they were light and fast. Mercury was the first to offer the V8 in their 1971 Comet, Ford waited until 1972 to drop something larger than the 250 six in. That didn't stop some dealers like Foulger Ford and gearheads who might read Popular Hot Rodding from swapping in Boss 302s back in 1970.
I was just noticing that your Acadian has a Chevy II rear bumper (no backup lights in them) plus rear trim on the trunk from a 1966 Chevy II. Of course you knew that right?
I will follow right along with your progress. Thanks for posting.

cdnGMfan ,Ford did offer a v8 302 as a option in the grabber package in 1971 ,as mine is a factory 302 Grabber .Yes ,i do know that there is a chevy II rear bumper and trunk lid emblem on this car ,remember this car was a redneck barn find ,was bolted on a shortbox chevy 4x4 running gear.I WILL restore it to near original if i can .

Hmmm, the 302 must have been a running change thing. I recall back at 1971 intro time, the Comet offered the V8 while the Maverick didn't... yet. Check out the original 1971 ad I am attaching. Only the sixes were offered at that time according to it.
Anyway, it is great that you are bringing the Acadian back from an ignoble fate.
Yes its an acadian ,Its a 67 Acadian Canso SD ,71837 factory v8 car,213 trim (black interior) ,m35 2 speed powerglide ,pant 09 N (Madeira Maroon) .This is what my goal is to brimg her back to her glory days ,and i give you all here my word i will accomplish this if i can find, the hard parts.ie rear bumper ,front grill and all the proper emblems.I sure hope i dont have to make it a chevy II SS clone, with Acadian tags and registration.
If any of the stuff you are looking for is the same as 66 I have a bunch of it. I have 2 rear and 2 front bumpers if they are the same. I seem your car in CHR very nice.

68sd, i will register the four door befor i scrap it.Dale (my bodyman ,painter and myself have been stripping it and its comming along well. Dale and i were disscusing how quickly this project could be done with the two of us working on it during the evenings and weekends .I think we can have it blasted, panted in the engine bay with show room detail and put the car shell including(doors, hood, trunk lid) back together and in prmmer by christmas ,so that is our goal .Her are some more pics of the four door being striped.cheers Jimmy P.S nobody on here has been able to tell me yet if the windshield from a 4 door with fit onto a 2 door SD? whats up with that.lol.

Here is the contact info on the guy that sold me a tinted windshield for my 62 Nova Conv. He was always at the big shows, Super Chevy and such. I paid $129.95 or there abouts for the Nova glass when I caught him at a Super Chevy Show in Indy. I waited to buy it at the show because the shipping was as much as the cost of the glass.

grande Jim ,yes i am a person NOT afraid of a challenge, the resto is comming along well.Dale my bodyman (friend) and myself are doing a major ,major overhaul .My goal is to build a 99% rust free car and get it back to as close as new original (maybe better) if possible .Here are some new pics.I cut the front end off the four door becuse it was undamaged and rust free, then cut the front end off the two door( becuse it was damaged and rusted ) at the factory seams,im only one day away from finishing the fit and welding the new front end on . Im going hard at this and it should be out of the sand blaster and in apoxy primmer for the end of next week.Jimmy PS i will post more pics after the weekend of the front end fitted and welded up (with the door gaps fitting perfect of course, lol)

Sorry, I missed this request about windshields earlier but as stated, the sedan is taller than the hardtop and will not fit. Hardtop only fits hardtop unfortunately.
