The sloped side, allowed the factory to "hang them on racks " for transportation to assembly plant... They were made in a separate frame plant

Sloping side matches the contour of the floor.

I was going to say that it was probably that way for the contour of the floor to integrate with but thought I might just be having a brain cramp!
