Jonothan, re insurance, my ins. co. says you can't remove ins. from car " have to keep it on yr. round, that's why policy is for yr.??? That's for Classic car insurance though, may be yours is different????

I can remove the 'drivability' portion of my insurance. It'll keep me protected from theft, fire etc...during the winter, but save me some money from no liability risk on the road. I'm not sure is its the same everywhere.

Always a sad day when the rides go away for the winter, but the positive is that we can do whatever maintenance/resto's that are needed!

Sweet Mx5!.
I had more than my share of fun in these working at the dealership when these were new..
Make sure to always undo the front w'shld clips on the top and let the tension off before operating the rear window zipper!.

Top down weather is never over! I am just about to put my El Camino away and pull out my Mustang Convertible...

Ha Pete you are about ten years too late for the clips thing, I learned the hard way, forgot only once and cracked the back window immediately. Still cracked, only about two inches long, I can live with it.

Actually just have fire and theft insurance on the Miata now for the winter. It is not old enough yet for the antique insurance I have on the Studebaker and Gremlin. When it does qualify I will be in a second. Coming up to 20 years old next year though!

I guess with the Specialty insurance they would go "nuts" with all the people cancelling the Pl Pd etc. all at the same time of yr. Even my own Driver insurance won't let me take it off any more, policy is for the whole year "period" on my P/up & wife's Vibe
