Thanks but your right, not what I am looking for.  I have an HEI but I like the look of the stock distributors.  Something to talk about at coffee.

Ian, I found a cast iron unit so far. Will that do or should I keep digging?

If you have an aluminum one but if not cast will do. Thanks for looking , you sure are the parts guy. LoL    Acording to chevy by the numbers 65-69 ,although most cars used the aluminum ones from 67  the corvette used the cast ones into 69 for small block and big block on both single points and magnetic pulse distributers. The 427 ZL1 in 69 also used a cast one.

Oh, well then I will keep my ZL1 unit for ebay!!!

I'll keep looking. I have two cast ones now but still no aluminum. I am sure I have one...

Ian and Carl,

I have an aluminum points distributor,  i would trade it for  a early cast iron one, but i have no spare, so i would only be able to do a trade.

I will bring it with me on monday.

I'm sure I have a extra aluminum distributer from a 283. I can bring it along? Or maybe Carl and dave can figure something out??

Whatever you guys like but I would like to give one to Ian to repay an earlier favour, so Dave, if you would trade an iron one for aluminum, we are all set.

Thanks

No problem, cash not necessary, I don't need them and who knows you will probably have some little thing I need when I start on the Acadian.

I just got home and I was the first to leave. Did you want to sign the banner before I ship it off?

We left at 10:47 according to the clock in my truck.

I would have to say, as much as I have enjoyed every time we do this, I think this had to be the most enjoyable time yet.

And that banner is downright pretty!!!

Hahaha, maybe I should have done that first before I sold it....

It would be bad if I just sold him an L79 327 for next to nothing!!!

been there, I had a 283 given to me with a bunch of 64 custom sport parts. I assumed it was from the that car. It sat in my back yard covered up,but no one wanted it. I wrote down the serial and casting info and headed to the dump. a while later i checked the casting book. 327 big journal from 68 corvette/camaro.  I did keep the intake thou.
I i could reach i'd kick myself. I now keep that casting book handy.
