1969 Parisienne

This is my brothers car, it hasn't seen the road in probably 20 years!!!  He hasn't decided what he is doing with it yet, so ther it sits in dry storage.  If he decides to sell, it will get listed here first.  I believe it is still the original 350 sbc, but I know the trans has been changed.  These are the best pics I could get, as you can see it is close to the wall.

Has there been a severe "rodentia" infestation in the car Uncle Bernie? I only ask that given all the stuffing lying on the front floor mats and all the litter on top of the engine? Would this car be restorable in your opinion or just a heck of a good parts car?

Yes there is rodent issue as is evident, but I think it is still saveable at this point. I personally think if it sits too much longer it may end up as a parts car. I know it needs a trunk pan, small patch on the frame and the hood where the hinges bolt is pretty rough. I have not seen under the car in a long time, but I believe he said there were no holes. He has most all new brake parts for it as well. I think the only thing that has slowed him down on this is 2 kids under the age of 5 and he is a diesel mechanic....so he kinda has a thing for big trucks!!! We chatted about it tonight and it gets to the old point...if I start where do I stop in restoring/repairing it???? Especially when I think you could buy a very nice car like Todd's for less!!!

Hey Uncle Bernie! If yer bro IS "SERIOUS" about restoring it? I've got some parts I'd GLADLY "DONATE" to his cause to help him get it happening a little faster and a little cheaper? I've got extra hoods and hinges and various trinketry and would be willing to help him out that way?
Just a thought anyways.

When I looked inside tonight, I did notice the rear seat appeared green. However the front bench doesn't appear to be original and is colored closer to a beige. I will let my brother know about the offer and do appreciate it.

Gee, I thought I had the only 69 Pontiac with that goofy colour combo! It would be interesting to know exactly how many were actually made that way.

TOO MANY! BAAHAAAHAAA! JUST KIDDING TODD! The '66 Pontiac 2-door post Strato Chief that
I owned when I was 15 had beige panels and back seat with a black dash and black back seat. Because I was only 15 at the time, I just took for granted someone put a different seat in the front
of it but would have never thought that's the way it would have come from the factory.
And Uncle Bernie? Let me know what yer brother says and if he's serious, I can help him with a few things.

See, if I had a car like this (A solid car). Even if I got it for dirt cheap. I wouldn't restore it, nor would I derby it.
I would safety it and get it mechanically running, spray it in flat black paint and cruise with it. and then worry about interior colours, etc. -- of course, me talking if I had the space and money thoughbiggrin

The Ford I first bought had rats/mice. The mechanic teacher left it on the hoist for winter break for 1-2 weeks. When we came back, there was about 8 mice dead on the floor. They commited suicide. haha

What I'd really like to find someday is a solid, low mileage Strato Chief. That's what we had when I was a kid.

Both still require a lot of work.
