Auction this weekend: The Milton Robson Collection

It sure would be nice to attend this auction. Milton Robson had some of the rarest of the rare musclecars and they all go up for sale this weekend at no reserve in Gainsville Georgia. Anyone here lucky enough to go? Admission is "only" $80

It will be interesting to see the results. That $80 gets you the catalog. The catalog then gets you in for free!

Nothing says "I love you" like a Goat!  Christmas is coming, I mean, is it really
too much to ask for?  I"ll probably have to start cooking again and ironing his
shirts.

If I win the Lottomax Friday, I wonder if I can get a flight in time for the fun on Saturday?

Being a closet Chryco Fin-atic, this one caught my eye:

MR10_r123_01.jpg

A 60 300-F with these specs:
400 hp, 413 cu. in., 10.1:1 compression V-8 engine, four-speed manual Pont-ą-Mousson transmission, 3.23:1 Sure-Grip rear axle, four-wheel disc brakes. Wheelbase: 126"

- The only Factory four-speed, 400 hp convertible in existence
- Complete with documentation and history from new
- One of the most desirable letter cars of all time

The blurb:
s this example is truly one of one, Mr. Robson endeavored without pause in the purchase of this Chrysler, taking almost four years to finally claim ownership. Today, the Chrysler shows just 13,845 miles, a further testament to its absolute excellence in its originality and history, having traveled less than 3,000 miles since 1978. The availability of this Chrysler is the very definition of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and is worthy of the most serious consideration for any discerning collector. One could easily say that if a Hemi Cuda Convertible is worth in excess of $1,000,000, then truly, what is the real value of this even more rare and special example? It is of course a Factory-built example and is, without question, one of one.

I'd also take this:

MR10_r103_01.jpg

and this:

MR10_r102_01.jpg

and this:

MR10_r152_01.jpg

and this:

MR10_r150_01.jpg

and this:

MR10_r127_01.jpg

this:

MR10_r136_01.jpg

and of course this: a 70 GS Stage 1 Ragtop with a 4 speed!:

If I had the money I'd be there to bid on those Pontiacs.
Also has a 62 SD Pontiac GP, and a 69 Firebird RA IV convt. I imagine they'll fetch big dollars.

If money were no object I sure have a "sweet" spot for that Black '69 RA IV GTO Conv. I kept telling the wife that my next car was going to be a '69 Conv. Ended up with a '68 Hardtop instead. Not complaining, but dang I would look good in that car....biggrin  IMO anyways...hehehe

Good catch. man. 63 was first year for 425 HP, eh? Makes you wonder about the accuracy of the claims made for these cars ...

Here is some info regarding his collection from the Performance Years forum....

"I have a close friend who knows Milt well and Milt told him he is just "switching gears", keeping a small number of cars but selling the rest + the property and going to spend more time in Florida and I don't remember the rest."

"I have known Milt personally since the 70's and your information is correct."

Probably has to do do with the $1,000,000 or so he will get.
