Driveshaft question.....

After reading some new posts about the 700r4 swap, I got to thinking...  Is it possible to find a driveshaft from another model that would be the right length as opposed to shortening the driveshaft I have????  In case some aren't aware it is a 1972 Lemans with a sbc and a 700r4.  I was wondering if there is a model with the proper driveshaft without having mine modified, or a new one????

Not a life and death situation, just one of those questions I had to ask......

picked up a shorten drive shaft for the 700r at Ancaster. It was out of his 60,000 mile southern 64 Chevelle. Shorten by 3" and balanced, new U joints $75. He has now gone to a 6 speed. and loves it.
