Couple Teenagers in Alberta get a speeding ticket

I visited my mom this past weekend as I was near Edmonton to pick up a car and she told me of a recent story this summer with my aunt and her.  They were heading to Camrose which is a city close to them to do some shopping.  On the way there they get pulled over by the highway authorities and my aunt gets a ticket for doing 126 in a 100 zone.  Mom says the policeman was so nice and he commented when giving my aunt the ticket that he thought it must have been a couple of teenagers.  My aunt is 83 and always has been a good but fast driver and my mom will be 90 in May.  I got a pretty good chuckle when I heard it.  And when my mom drives she goes exactly by the limit, never over it, but when in a hurry it's best for my aunt to drive.

Wow, good one!

My mother in law is 85. That would be the day she goes over the limit.

Years ago I was rushing her to the hospital because we thought she was having a stroke (that turned out to only be an ear infection). I was driving about 140 and she noticed it on the digital dash. That is about 15 or more years ago but she has never forgotten how "fast" I was going!

Was that the time you were glad you had a dimmer for the dash lights? wink

There was one time that my Dad had a blood vessel burst inside his nose that would not stop bleeding. So he had to hold his head up, with gauze stuffed in it.
After seeing a local doctor, he was told he had to see a specialist.
I was a newbie with my licence and I had to drive him to the specialist in Peterborough On. from Cobourg On. (50 minute "speed limit" drive) to get his nose cauterised.
Of course, I was doing well over the speed limit on the highway in our new '76 Monte Carlo. He knew I was speeding, he could feel it, but he couldn't look down at the dash to see by how much!
He kept asking (at least 15 times) how fast I was going, and I kept telling him the speed ... minus 30 miles an hour.biggrin

Last time I was in Germany, I drove up to Berlin from near Munich, 689 km, did it in under 4 hours. My little rental car could only manage 185 flat out; Porches and Beemers whizzed by me.

I would love to see your aunt take it to court and see the look on the judge when these two hot rodders sit in front of him.
