Now I think I see what you guys mean. It's missing?

I thought you said it had the wrong chrome but it has no side lower trim.

Yup ...it isn't there...probably cuz the little plastic clips that hold it on were broken...and it's easyer to weld up the holes than make new clips or find ones that will work!!..I'm dealin with that little problem myself.

Regardless of the mods, the car looks very nice - BB 4 speed to boot. I like it.

That would be a task opening all the holes again to put clips in.

Did any of the Canadian Ponchos come with the 8 lug option?

No, the chassis is totally different so there is no way short of major modification to use those beautiful 8 bolts in Canada.

The Canadian cars are the same as Impala for frame and drive train

The 1966 Grande Parisienne is one of the prettiest Coke-bottle shapes out there IMHO. I love the concave rear window & the hidden rear tail light treatment. They did not get the ribbed lower door & rocker trim like the U.S. Grand Prix. The rear fender skirts were standard on the Grande Parisienne.

Here's a link to a brochure picture (text in Dutch) http://storm.oldcarmanualproject.com/pontiac/196612.jpg

Hey Carl, that 1966 Malibu SS looks like it has a 230 emblem on the front fender. Does it?

Jonno,
We really need to get you into a Canadian Poncho. This one is perfect for you. I really like the Pontiac Rally's on this one however the nice thing about wheels is they are easy to change and the make the whole look drastically different. Doggies, Rally's, Torq Thrust.....

Yeah I can visualize Torq Thrusts on there, they would look great. It is a nice car and I would love to have it. First thing I would do is ditch that Grant steering wheel and find an original one.

Maybe sometime C2 can let me drive his 427 Strato Chief sometime to give me a feel for how a big block stick shift handles!

Cam, that Dutch brochure is great. I can see that the way it is set up GM ran it with a black plate change for the different languages, keeping the costs to a minimum. Note non of the text is in colour, just black.
