That's too bad guys as this is Environment Canada's forcast for our area: 2cm is nothing and that's in the evening.
TonightCloudy. Periods of snow mixed with rain beginning overnight. Wind east 20 km/h becoming light after midnight. Low zero. SundayRain mixed with snow. Wind becoming east 20 km/h in the morning. Temperature steady near plus 2. Sunday nightRain mixed with snow changing to snow and ending near midnight then cloudy and 60 percent chance of flurries. Snowfall amount 2 cm. Wind becoming north 30 km/h late in the evening. Low minus 7.
I will see what the conditions are when I wake up. Last I checked the weather people are calling for freezing rain along the lake to Hamilton with 5 to 15 cm of snow.
Where are you guys hearing about 15cm of snow? Here's the Environment Canada forecast for Toronto:
TonightCloudy. Low plus 1. SundaySnow mixed with rain changing to rain in the afternoon. Local snowfall amount 5 cm. Wind east 30 km/h. High plus 4. Sunday nightRain changing to snow and ending near midnight then cloudy with 60 percent chance of flurries. Wind northwest 40 km/h gusting to 60. Low minus 8.
I'll post on here early tomorrow morning to give you all a heads up on the weather here. Also, please post before 9am if you aren't coming so I can call ahead with a proper head count.
Just checked 10 seconds ago local forecast on Weather network and they are saying Snow Squalls with 5 cm is predicted by 8:am and 10 cm by noon changing to freezing rain and rain 5mm. Difficult driving conditions for next 48 hours warning.
Who do we believe? The only sure way is to poke your head outside.
Hey Guys, It's looking crappy here. I love the accuracy of Environment Canada. I don't think they could predict a sunset accurately! The snow is coming down steady and there is about 7-8cm on the ground already. I'd hate for anyone to have a mishap trying to get here so I think we'll cancel for this time. We'll have to try for another time. It's too bad as I was really looking forward to this. Hopefully everyone gets this in time!
For what it's worth, My wife's good friend just called, (12:30 pm) she drove in from Woodstock and is home safe but apparently she saw a serious crash near Guelph involving a transport which was on its side lying in the ditch of the 401. Icy and slush covered most of the way with blowing snow is how she described her trip.
Left for Brantford before cancellation notice. Had a nice breakfast with Stephenzone and Custom 69.Weather was just a little wet,no white stuff. Maybe we can try again in the new year .
nice drive home from brantford, only rain. breakfast was awesome w/ chris and his misses plus custom 69 for company. i bought some more license plate at the local junk store.
