Calgary is second coldest place on the planet

Calgary is the coldest place in Canada and second coldest on the planet.
The official temperature taken at the Springbank Airport just before 11am Tuesday was minus 33.
The only place colder was a South Pole station in Antarctica, where it was minus 38.
Global News Weather Forecaster Paul Dunphy says an arctic air mass over Alberta is responsible for the frigid temperatures.

It hit 15 in the early morning hours here in sothern Ontario but has been on a skid after that. We are at 2 now. I`m good with the cold but hate the wind

It was crazy today here in SW Ont. I walked out this morning and it was 14. I walked outside after work and it was 0. If you get migraine headaches like I do, weather changes like this are hell!

A work colleague of mine in Calgary told me that this morning it was -29. I was there in late October and it was quite temperate - as high as 10. Was also in Fort MacMurray in early October and it was between +15 & 20 every day. How quickly things change in winter in Canada.

Last monday night I drove my car up to the car wash to clean r up and put her away for the year before the snow...ended up cruising around for about an hour with a smile on my face. By tuesday morning almost a foot of snow in my driveway. Last night it hit -32 in my front yard the tires on my truck felt like square blocks of concrete for my drive to work....plus 2 by friday! Gotta love Calgary!!

Currently working near Kindersley Sk and last night was very bitter outside for the rig workers who are forced to work in all conditions. It was -33°C and 15km/h wind. The windchill put it right around -40°C and I think the last tree I saw was back in Alberta.
