I will have to try harder this coming summer to find those 2 Rags with the 409's that are fairly close to me........ Will dig for more info!!!
I do know of a parted '58 Chevy with a 348.... Also, apparently this car came from the factory with a "metric" cluster... He had to go back shortly after he bought it and had it switched.....

(just kidding, what a great week for '60's B bodies on this forum - lots of interesting ones including this fantastic 65-409, the subject of this thread. Beautiful)

I am looking forward to seeing the build date on this machine. if it is after the Sask one and is really a 400 horse one it will be unique for two reasons! if it actually maybe the last one built maybe pontiac decided to go out with a bang.
That would be awesome if it is the last one. I wonder what the value would skyrocket to if it can be shown to be the last 409 car? Does anyone think the dual quads are factory?
So Carl, do you think the dual quads could have been dealer installed for delivery. It is a one owner car. I have not actually spoken to the owner but that is one thing I'd like to know.
That's what I think too. Decals were probably added then as well. Did anyone notice that the 409 decal is a Chevy part, 409 Turbo Fire. Pontiacs did not use valve cover decals like that plus they called it the 409 Flame & Super-Flame depending on HP.
Looks like 81 Corvette wheels....hmmm, not sure. I'd have never guessed that wheel to look good on a 60's car but I like it. That is an amazing car Ray. The color suits that generation of car. Much nicer than a red or a black IMO.
