Thanks Ray, i really appreciate the kind words. I too look forward to meeting you sir, this coming spring or summer. The car still shows reasonably well considering i finished it in 1997 and put on about 2.000 miles a year on her. This car has really given me a lot of pleasure and only let me down twice. In 2004 i fried the starter in Kitchener, Ontario. In 2009 i blew out one of the rear bearings in Milton, Ontario. Other than that super reliable and a real joy to drive. Cheers. George.

That photo of my dad Anthony, (1927-1993), with his foot on the bumper of his 57 was taken in 1960. In Toronto, on Dufferin Street, facing north. I have been told that i am in the back seat of the car with my grandmother (dads mom). My dad always told me that of all the many cars he owned, this was always his favorite. Mostly because it never let him down and only cost him basic upkeep. Sadly in 1970 the old girl was too worn out and my dad blew the motor driving on the 401 highway. I can remember coming home from school and seeing the old girl hooked up to a tow truck. I asked my parents whats going on and they broke the bad news to me. Honestly, not a word of a lie. It broke my heart, i was so sad to see her go. I grew up with that car and it was a part of our family. I use to sneek into the garage all alone get behind the wheel and pretend i was driving her. I was just a child but i loved that car even then. May she rest in peace in old car heaven. Amen. George.
