I've been seriously thinking about re-painting the car, back to it's original colour of Verdoro Green.
I think I've told this story before, but when the car was new (Verdoro Green) the lady that purchased the car would only do so if the dealership (Conroy) re-painted it purple. So, it was done.
Eventually, a new owner, had it painted this turquoise colour in the early 80's, and then a couple of years ago, I had it re-painted turquoise (91 Corvette aqua, actually).
The car is very original, except for this colour. Anyway, below is the current colour and an altered picture of close to Verdoro Green.
What do ya think ? I really like the Verdoro Green :
Either colour does look fabulous on her. It's funny how some cars can except some colours better than other colours, but with that body style I think any colour would suit it. As I've commented time and time again, green cars used to always be parted out or painted another colour years ago. Now the people that used to be guilty of that, myself included, have a new found appreciation for that Verdoro green colour. I'm still not stuck on the green interior thing, but for the exterior, I certainly could live with it. The main thing to do is to do it what YOU REALLY WANT! You've gotta look at it a long time before you paint it again. Thankfully, that colour green IS beautiful!!
I WOULD NOT PAINT IT JUST TO CHANGE COLOR IF IT'S NOT NEEDED. LOOKS GREAT THE WAY IT IS, BUT IF IT NEEDS PAINT I WOULD GO FOR THE GREEN. VERDORO GREEN WITH THE WHITE TOP AND INTERIOR...VERY CLASSY.
Don't paint it until you need to. The car is striking in Aqua.
I face a similar dilemma with my convertible, not the color but the upholstery. It was done in the early 80's, and needs it again. I just keep saying "maybe in a couple years".
I like the aqua. What I really want to know is how you did the colour change. Photo shop? If so, how? I've been trying to figure that out for quite a while!

Hi Todd,
You asked me how I changed the colour.
I use a free tool called GIMP 2.6. It's very similar to PhotoShop, but FREE.
Once I loaded the picture into GIMP, it attempts to "recognize" the most used colours in the loaded picture and then give you the option to change anything that colour in the picture.
So, for this picture of my 2+2, it knew there was alot of Aqua in the picture, it let me select that colour to change and then using a combination of "Hue-Saturation" slide buttons, I could change the colour.

Cool, huh ?

another idea subtract the price of the re-paint $6-8000.00 and I will buy the car "as is"
Don't change the colour. I hate to say it but that green reminds me of the colour (and the smell) of the shallow prairie lake I live next to in August of any year. Algae. Not good.
Although my 68 hardtop is Tripoli Turq, my 68 convertible is Verdoro green. I am conflicted as to what to suggest, both are awesome colours but I go agree with many of our fellow members, your 2+2 already looks amazing so don't touch it until you need to... and then at that point...flip a coin???
I guess my question to you would be..Did they do a complete color change when they painted it Aqua ? Is the inside of the trunk, the doors, under the hood, the fire wall, every thing painted? if so, I'd leave it alone. If they only did half a color change and have not repainted all these places, I'd put it back to green.
I'm one of the guys that the colour green just happens to be my favourite colour. I like the verdoro green on your car but the Aqua just looks better to me. If you don't need to paint it, leave it Aqua.
I had the same dilemma last year, went dark green with no regrets. I had to ignore most friends who told me I am insane. Similar too the feature car. Of course these studies are bs, and the list had to be created by a woman, or an abnormally effeminate male.
