It's funny because there is no more validating the 66-67 Cheetahs than my 65 Cheetah. I'm happy to have mine and I thought I would be funny.

You do up the car totally stock, but have the wheels to bolt on, and have the Cheetah emblems attached to magnetic backing   so you can have it stock or Cheetah

I like your idea but my 65 sd is a real cheetah. I'm drilling and bolting them on. I say show me another 65 Beaumont SD 4spd from Conroy with those options, L-79 or not.

I figure even if somebody can prove it wrong I still would have a great tribute car, Ha! Ha! I lucked into it, I'm my worst critic, and I even believe it's the real deal. I always ask what people think of it but I know it's a Cheetah and should be built that way.

I think it's something cool from the Canadian pontiac history. It wasn't what I was looking for but it sure is neat. I personally would prefer a numbers match L-79 Beaumont even if this Cheetah is rarer. It still will be cool when it's done.

Just received my latest issue of The Canadian Chevelle Beaumont News, and it had a vary interesting story on the Canadian CHEETAHS built by Conroy Pontiac Buick dealership in Vancouver BC. Article says 46 Cheetahs were made 21 Beaumont Cheetahs stayed in BC the other 25 where shipped to Conroy Pontiacs main office in St Catharines On.  The BC production was 8 in 1966, 7 in 1967, 6 in 1968, Of the 25 that where shipped to St Catharines there was no mentioned of how many of each year was sent to the home office. The Cheethas in BC had the following engines, 2 with 283's the balance had the L78 360Hp and the 427.

Conroy also made 8 Can Am Firebirds with the Z28 302 engine.
