Beaumont trivia time!

I am using the parts book as my reference material for this question. No peeking if you have the book!

What engine was available in 64 Beaumont but not 65 Beaumont?

I am looking for a more specific reply than just the cubic inch.

I didn't see this one Carl.

I am going to say that in 1964 the 283 4bbl was probably the performance engine then in 65 the 327's came along but I figure the 283 2bbl would be the first V8 option.

Final answer: 283 4bbl 220 HP.

Ding ding ding!!!!! We have a winner.

I hadn't realized it but that is how the parts book lists the powertrain combos. Once I saw that, I looked up some intake and carb parts in the data section to confirm it.

Actually, so did I !

I only noticed when I was scouring pages for a trivia question that it's one year in Beaumont.

I think Chevelle ran it till 67, or at least 66 anyway?

After 1964, in the U.S. the 220 horse 283 4-barrel was reintroduced mid-year in the 1965 run and carried through 1966. It never returned to Canada after 1964.

The 155-horse 230 six (L61) was offered on 1964 Chevelles & Beaumonts. It had  a chrome valve cover, air cleaner lid, oil breather cap, and some also say it had chrome vacuum lines (don't know about that).  The L61 was also offered on the 64 Chevy II in the U.S only.
