This is strictly rumour but I'm sure lots of you heard it over the years.

What ingredient in the original GM Positraction oil forced GM to change the formula because of it being banned or at least considered politically incorrect to use?

I had heard whale oil too but it sure could be seals as well, not sure.

whale oil,,,same for ATF of old....I think..

that's why old tranny's with fresh new oil don't last without a tranny additive like Lucas...
