I know a fellow who was an OPP officer in the 1960's. He patrolled HWY 2 near Woodstock and told me some horrific stories about car crashes as well as some stories about some cool police pursuits. The 401 wasn't a whole lot safer until they put the median barriers in. The stretch near Putnam Ont. was one of the worse for cross median fatalities.
Very cool seeing the long, low, recently built rides all clipping along in a row on a summer day.
