Speaking of pink Acadians, I had a friend back in the early 70's who bought an old Corporation Of Surrey, BC car at an auction. It was a 66 or 67 Acadian 2 door post car painted in Surreys colors, which were a kind of pink with a white top. He wanted a killer street car, so another friend built it up for him. He put in a built 350 with a Smoky Ram manifold. a big Holley carb, and a cam that made this car idle at about 1200 RPM. It had a built Powerglide with a converter that stalled at 5,000 RPM, and 5:13 gears. It would come off the line like a grizzly with turpentine in his backside. It was an incredibly fast street car. We all rented shop space on Sharp Street in New Westminster which was a very steep street that sloped down towardsthe river. One thing that stands out in my memory is one day when it started to rain lightly, and the Acadian owner was trying to drive up the street to park it in the shop. Every time he hit the gas it would just light the tires up. He ended up by backing down the hill and taking the long way around, and coming down the hill. As long as he had it, it stayed the same color, but I don't know what happened to it since.
Ohh the nights must be getting long in the east........that apple green just about brought on a seizure......
