66' convert

Hello all, I am as it notes a newbie............ I joined yesterday and have had a great response already, I have done a lot of reading on this site and I am looking forward to getting info and help along they way on my project.
So here's what I have and what i know so far......... 1984 I saw this car for sale and informed my dad about it at the tie I did not have enough money to buy it but without me knowing he went a bought it for himself....... Grrrrrr . all was good I was able to take it out once and awhile when I was in grade 12 ......... did a lot of cruising out to Whiterock (vancouver).......  once I graduated my father seemed to loose interest in the car and it was parked in the garage untill we moved to Prince George, my parents also moved here and it was then stored in there barn untill my father passed away, then it was stored in my barn. The last real time it was insured was 1986. The car is now mine and it is time to have some fun with it. What I do know is it was an automatic (now standard 4 speed ) it currently has a 327. Plans are going to based on if the car is worth restoring to original (minus engine, trans.) I would like to install 5 speed standard, full disc brakes with complete suspension upgrades etc...... One thing I am wondering is what chrome trim it would have come with, rocker chrome/top fender trim/gills etc.......
Info from factory tag
Style 732672-4-6
Body# 836835
Paint - C
Trim - 083
on the bottom C06M35TP02

not sure what all this means but that;s why I'm here.

Any and all help would be great.
Thanks Brew.......

Well welcome from another B.C.er. Car looks pretty solid from those pictures. I always enjoy these stories when they've been in your possession or your family's for such a long time. I think you'll enjoy the site and the info that you gather.

I'll take a shot at it. Oh, first off, welcome here! Great introduction you did, one of the best I've seen!!!

73267 Beaumont base model convertible V8

2-4-6 is 2, second shift, 4, month (April) 6, day April 6th

Sequential body # 836835

Paint C---I don't have my charts in front of me but in 65 C was white. Was it white when it was new?

Trim 083--- have to look in the book

M35 tells it was a powerglide but it looks like a nice 4 speed conversion including the console.

Welcome from another BC Beaumont owner. I have an 1966 Custom. I believe your car is a base model convert. C06 is power top. Nice job on the 4 speed install.

Since the car has been in our family it has always been this metallic grey, and to this day besides the patched fender due to something falling on it wash's up great and runs well. How do I go about finding other info such as top color/gears/what chrome trim this model came with etc.. who ever did the standard convert did a great job the only way I could tell was the shift bracket on the steering column.  It is a no rust car, a least no rust showing since 1984, my guess who ever built this car must have done a good job..... wish I knew who it was I'm sure they would be glad to see their work lasted so long.......

Give me a little bit of time here and I will post the drawing from the Beaumont parts book that shows the side trim it was built with.

I think you will be surprised wink.gif

It was a bit plain, to say the least! You have much more trim on it now.

Oh, and don't mind my bright pink Acadian picture. It's just a couple of us having some fun here. That is my car but it's NOT pink in reality, it's white.

Check out the attached thread, it has the beaumont registry; scroll down to the 1966 section and click on brochure. This shows the orginal trim on each model. To complete the creation of a Sport Deluxe tribute, since you've got most of the emblems etc, Dale's Reproductions makes the gills for the front fenders. The lower trim that runs the length of the car(along the body line, 6-8" up the door) may be tough to find though. On the base models and Sport Deluxe there was no trim along the upper body line, only the Custom(like mine) had that. Originally your car would have been fairly plain. The TP02 on the tag refers to top colour, someone on here will be able to tell you whether this was black or white.

Wow great info, I have some extra sport deluxe tags like the one's on the car, my guess is I should hang onto them?
OK I'm good with the white but my wife kinda liked the pink...... good thing she's not picking the car color....lol.......

I was just going by the fact that C is white on my 65. I am going to check if 66 is the same.

Yup, just sneaked over to a different site that has the colours posted. It appears you have a white car, red interior!

Oh and Brew, don't take this as criticism but just a comment in case you didn't know. Your car has Chevelle parking lamp lenses in it. Beaumonts should be clear instead of orange.

Ok, that's enough info now!

His car would be different than the cars pictured because he would also have a V8 front fender emblem, correct?

Sorry, never heard of itconfuse

Actually, I sometimes watch 15-20 minutes of it in the lunchroom when I have lunch at work since my break is after 1 when all the rest are back to work.

As far as at home, I don't think I've turned our TV on once in 2010 except likely a dozen times to dirt track race on the PS2...
