Had a 52 chev with a 350 in it. One day at a convenience store across from my house, it wouldn't start(solenoid) Typical, I open the hood to short the solenoid. Tried three times and it was sparking but wouldn't catch, when I noticed the power cable on the battery jumping everytime I tried shorting it. Next thing I remember was a large bang...The battery exploded, blowing the side out of it. I jumped back, and as I stood there, Had this ringing in my ears. I walked home, unsteady because my equilibrium was gone, and had to be careful crossing the street because I couldn't hear a thing. The ringing stopped about three days later.

Skin graft from my left forearm to patch up my little finger. I was removing head bolts on an inline 6 cyl with a 1/2" impact. I had it reduced to a chrome 3/8" extension and a socket. Left hand was the guide for the extension to keep it from wobbling and of course it sheared off tearing the inside of my little finger open.
