1965 Beaumont full skin aftermarket doors.

I decided to go with these new doors for the Cheetah and I was wondering if anybody else has gone down this road. I didn't want to be the first with the 65 but I thought I would post some pictures and list some of the issues as they come up. Any recomemdations would be great.

I was told they were a goodmark door but the name is in the picture. I bought them in the states and they were 450.00 each. I don't know of anybody trying this with a 65 either. So far there is some mild hardware hole differences, eg a wrong size hole but the wing windows fit a little tight and they punched the lock hole too small. Both seem minor and I have all my original hardware, glass, and hinges on them now. In the next few days I plan to hang them on a car to see how they match the pillar. They are thinner metal than the originals but seem like a better way to go than fixing the old ones.

the full trunk panel covers this pc. I bought one in the fall now that it is made correct for the 64 65. The 66 67 trunk pan is different.

I think Kelly is talking about the piece between the trunk lid and the top of the bumper line. A also have a full one piece trunk and it didn't have the upper part that he's describing but it had the lower flat piece with the out ine of the rear panel shape. If you have that upper piece on yours what name brand is it?

My blue convertable has skins on it but I'm glad that I didn't have to go that way this time. Lots of labour and your would still be stuck with the impossible seam rust.

I have found that most stock doors fit different door to door too so your still stuck trying to fit them. I am mostly worried about the wing window to pillar fit. I will keep you posted.

It's still a nice piece. It runs right to the back seat and picks up 6 mounts.

I think the price for it was almost a grand here at antique chev. I picked mine up at Fall Carlisle for $450 from Ausleys. Dynacorn

You got lucky with the door lock holes. We replace door skins on my sons 67 camaro with Dynacorn and the holes were to big. The locks just fall in the holes he had to patch in material to make the door locks fit.

Hey Paul
Those doors look  good, I myself have purchase the driverside fender, and 2 door skins. nothing has being  put on the car yet. i'm thinking if your doors fit well , i might go that way as well. fitment is the key thing, the fender  i purchased came from Dynacorn, ( $525 taxs included ) looks good.
i will be watching further on this thread .

My suggestion is if you put on a aftermarket fender that you should do both. The detail on top where it feathers into the windshield could be slightly different. At least they would match. The one I looked at was slightly different at the leading edge also. I decided to go back to the rust free OEM Chevelle fenders I have and modify them to match a beaumont fender. Make sure you pick the eyebrows you are going to use and modify the leading edge using them as a jig. They all fit different. You will have to remove all the Chevelle eyebrow brackets also so the rad support can sit tight to the fender. I spent alot of time on mine.

there seems to be an afiliattion between the sheet metal suppliers. Golden Legion  quite often can be the manufacturer of these parts for who ever the distributor may be

complain complain at least you can get full panels even GM had to tweak their bodies. but seriously the quality of the panels today even from a buget stamper is light years ahead of the stuff we all remember from the 80s i found a rubber hamer and grinder with lots of patients are required

I don't think that we are all complaining? It's good to share the experience because then you would know what to expect if you went down the same road. And yes I'm happy they make these now. I'm hoping for trunk lids and tail light panels next.
