All the best to you and your family Pete. My mom is going through some issues now and she has said that my two brothers and I are "dead" to her and i dont know how to take it. Is it the drugs, not being on them, or her just feeling sorry for herself. This month has been a really tough month for me also, my grandfather passed away (was on life support for a couple days) a friend from college passed away, and this stuff with my mother. Its tough but i have been able to cope with the help of family and friends, im sure yours will be there for you as well. (i also find a couple wobbly pops helps a bit too..LOL)
Boxing day was another "story" was at my eldest step son's for daughter in Laws birthday. Richard shows up late for dinner, could tell he was off, we left at 8pm & 15min. later he goes off like a bomb, swearing at everyone & in front of the 2 grand kids, His brother & dad escorted him out & so far no one's heard a thing from him!!! Janice is "just beside" herself but realizes that we can't do a thing for him till he gets help!!!

I'm glad that nobody was hurt as a result of his behaviour although I would imagine that the kids will remember .Witnessing or being involved in family violence leaves a lasting impression ,especially on children. I know what it's like to struggle with mental illness, every day has a new challenge the thing is if your not willing to admit that you have a problem your everybody else's problem. A person with mental issues must be dealt with, they must be made aware that violence will not be tolerated and if they wish to be accepted by others there must be change. It's all about choices ,do you want to share in the lives of the people that care about you or do you want to live alone ,not much of a choice is it ? I chose to be with the people that love me and as I get older the things that happened in the past are forgotten or replaced with the pleasant memories of the family that was there for me each and every day.
