Thanks Kelly, but I gave this dash "spruce up" an extremely low budget. Material I can buy locally and unlimited free labor, mine.  lol
I think I have an idea on how it is supposed to look now. Give me a few days and I will post a picture.
One other thing I want to do on this project is dye my dash pad. I have the same interior colors as you but when I sourced out parts home restoring this car, I found a black dash pad in very good shape. I talked to an outfit here that does plastic & vinyly repairs for most of the car dealers here and they said they can dye it. I am not sure of the cost yet.

Interesting Kelly. Which shop did it and also is there a part number for the color you used?

Hey Jerry.. the place is C R Techniques
Phone :(403) 279-9116
Address : 4527 1 St SE, Calgary, AB T2G2L2
and the dye I got was mixed up at a place in the NE. CR techniques MIGHT still have the information on my job, but I DO remember that the color was a standard mix and not a custom color so I could get it mixed again if i needed to.  they dyed the two colors of the interior.  so the package tray, door panels, seats, kick panels, arm rests, wind lace and wind lace caps, and dash. i have a small portion of it left, but it's in Calgary... and i'm not.. so I cant just run to the garage and give you the code off the can.. Sorry..

it was a SEM brand dye.

Hi Brian... thanks very much.. and yes to the color.. it's an incredible blue and I havent seen a photo yet that captures the color exactly.
looking forward to the summer too.

I was just working on aiming the headlights and found that they were getting dimmer as I left them on (yes the car was running) to the point were the car died until I boosted it again. I'm getting about 13 volts with the engine revving at about 1100, but it drops off if i let her idle. so I'm thinking my alternater or voltage reg may have a problem.

You should be getting at least 14 volts and no more than about 14.7 at 1100 I would say Kelly.

Thanks Carl. I'm going to do a few more tests to see that things are connected.. My manuals are all in alberta, so I'm at a bit of a loss as to what goes where..
I'm hoping, since the reg and alternator are new, that the problem is just a wire not connected or something.
I noticed the ground stud on the back of the alternatoer is missing the ground strap.. does that go to the manifold? or is it a longer sheilded wire that goes to a chassis ground termination?

I looked at my Acadian alternator. I am pretty sure it's the same as your Beaumont unit. On the back it has the big power wire to the big stud, the 2 prong connector to the square hole at the top and a black wire that goes to that terminal you mention. All four wires come out of the same harness.

So no small black wire coming out of the harness?

not that I can see... but I'll have to check again.. it should have a ring connector on it right?
it's the trouble with the "crossover" between chevelle and GTO wiring harness' that I was having.. either way.. it should still be there.

do you happen to have a photo of the harness complete and mounted?

I'll try to get picture off mine and be back to you. It will be a little tough because I haven't "rotated" my alternator housing yet from the 6 cylinder orientation. It's a 1/4 turn out so the wires are down lower.
