Wheel and tire opinions wanted.

I'd really like to do some wheels on my 67. These Cragar Eliminator 500's in 17x8 really appeal to me. They really look retro 67-68 imop.
I'd like some Intro brand wheels in 18, but at $2500 that's simply out of the question. These Cragars are available for around $125 or so. All aluminum, chrome. I'd also wrap them with a set of Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 wide ovals in 235/55/17.

Front discs are also on my mind. Corvette C3 4 piston. I have some stuff already to get started on that.

Could you picture this 4 door Gp with these wheels?

It would look cool with the 17" Cragars; of course it looks cool now with the 15" rallies and skirts - reminds me of a silver on red GP 4 dr ht that I used to walk past everyday when I was in high school.  Yours is a beautiful car.

You'll get a million different opinions here!

So........, here's one opinion---- I don't think you can beat the look it has now with the small centre rallys....

For a car that smooth you need a smooth looking wheel.  Aggressive just wouldn't suit that car in my opinion.  Course I'm the kind of guy that has to get checked by my wife before I leave for work so she can make sure I'm not wearing checkered pants and a striped shirt so yo may want to treat my opinions on taste kind of carefully.

To me those rallys are perfect.

Just thinking out loud...If you want to change it up, I wonder how it would look if you painted those rims to match the color of the car? (I do love the way it looks now though. One of my favorite cars on the site!)

I'm with everyone else Mark.

The Rallye wheels you have on that car look great as is, very cool and understated.

Even painting them body colour is a waste of time - the silver colour works well.

Save the big hairy wheels for the convertible you are doing.

Well I'm with group on this one. These 60's Pontiac's or others DON"T LOOK GOOD with anything over a 15" wheel, PEROID!!!!

Yes i agree with the group because of a factory look but also a bigger car needs to have a thicker sidewall to balance it out, but thats just me.

I agree with the rally wheel look...   You have them, and they are low maintenance...

BUT  biggrin if you want a extra set for special occasions...   then the Cragar 500 are good looking!   or How about Cragar SS  in 15x6 (skirts)

look at last months feature  car in drk green with Cragars

At the end of the day ... whatever you prefer. My personal favorite for these cars is the 15 by 8 Corvette rally wheel.

I think the Rallys are hard to beat but those cragars will look great for something different i Posted a pic of a red 65 GTO ragtop with those wheels awhile back and I thought they would look great on the convertible too....

i think the rally,s you have on there, really suite it well. they really give the car a classy look, with a little bit of attitude.

I must agree with a lot of other people...Nothing bigger than a 15" rim and a retro look is always classy
