The rear end bolts finally let go. You know people think that rust is weak...but not when it is attached to bolts...wink...Wayne finally won that battle! Rear end is off! So he'll be cleaning that up, checking everything, painting it, etc, before it goes back on...he really is enjoying taking Fannie apart...hope he's just as enthusiastic when it comes time to put ALL those peices back on biggrin.

Finally biggrin

I have been trying since February to have this car shipped to us from Texas. But since that proved to be more then we could afford we did the next best thing. We had the parts that we really needed shipped to Maine, then drove down on Saturday and picked them up.

It wasn't pretty but we put one box on the truck, then emptied the other on top, then folded the flaps over as good as we could. Straped them down, taped up the box for extra support because it was raining. Got home with no problems. When we got home we checked out our parts a little closer...bonus...they included the gas tank, we needed the a filler tube. Also the interior wheel well covers at no extra charge. They also didn't charge us for the bumper or the packaging fee. biggrin

So here are a few pictures of the parts.

You'll be able to solve those rust problems with all this good Texas sheet metal.

I just wanted to give you an up date on what's happening with my wagon...actually there is no up date. :(

We have an inlaw suite in our house on the third level, for my mom. Well she turned 81 last March and is beginning to find the stairs abit of a challenge so we are renovating our basement level which is a walk out so no stairs for her. Anyway until we get her taken care of Fannie will have to wait...I guess mom IS more important then my Beaumont...I guess??? hahaha

But as soon as we are back on track I'll let you know.

Thanks for you patience. :)

Once you get the wagon finished take your Mom out in it for a bite to eat.

Thanks guys, my mom is still very active. She goes to dance and card games a couple of times a week. She just got herself another car (Aveo) she takes that little bump all over the place. She's helping out with painting, etc. She's really excited about the move, she seems to be having a blast. Anyway when Fannie is all ready for a spin, no doubt we'll be fighting over who'll be doing the driving...parents...biggrin

Good luck on your wagon, it's a tough build due to the fact that wagons are twice the size and twice the parts, but I think...twice the respect. Anyone can do a normal 2 door hard top.lol Can't wait for more progress pics. I should have sum pics of my 468 poncho stroker motor with Tri-power coming within a month. Good luck.....WAGONS RULE!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and brought in the New Year with friends and family around. smile

Well the reno is almost complete, we should be able to get mom moved in in a couple of weeks. So we can start to think about continuing our work on Fannie. Santa didn't forget her either, she got all new brakes and lines for the back. So once we have mom stettled, Wayne will be putting these new parts on and get the rear end back on the car.

Thanks again for your patience...we'll soon be back on track.

Thanks

The headliner is vinyl also, it brittle. Hubby managed to get it out Ok. I have to be really careful claening it. Any suggestions on something that might soften it up?confuse

Sounds like you guys are having fun with your build. For a Maritime car it actually didn't look all that bad considering it's age. I've seen a lot newer cars out of NS look a whole lot worse!

I know how you feel, between life and $$$ it gets discouraging. I was hoping to at least drive mine this year... As of now it's not Looking good. Wagons are awesome though, love it :)

Also, I finally have gotten documentation from GM Vintage Vehicle Services stating how many 1968 Beaumont Wagons model# 73135 built in 1968....(drum roll)...

279!

I also recieved confrimation on the build date, dealer and the correct motor size. These were points that I felt were acrite but I wanted it confrimed.

I'm really excited at finally getting this info and want to thank Dave Weir at Canadian Chevelles and Beaumonts for his support.
