That is really impressive, the wonderful effort you folks are making on that sweet wagon of yours. A rare piece of Canadian history and it is noble that you folks are doing the right thing. I myself in 35 years of being in this great hobby have never seen a Beaumont wagon before. Thank you for saving that sweet car. All i can hope for is that you folks keep her original because the rarity calls for it. Much good luck with the Canadian history project. Cheers. George.

I almost forgot to add, please, please, please say that you are keeping that wonderful workhorse 250 inline six in its proper place. A great engine for a great wagon. Super reliable, easy to fix, low cost to maintain, great on gas and it belongs in its proper home. What ever you do, do not let 427 Carl talk you into putting in a 600 H.P. big block that needs a tanker for a gas tank if you know what i mean. Let us know what the plans are for the engine and keep in mind that we already know that you should keep the 250 inline in. Cheers. George.

No worries George.

The day we brought her home a few of the neighbours came over and there was all kinds of guy talk about how much room was under the hood and what could go in there to fill it. I just let them talk while I was checking out the rest of the car. Then I heard hubby say," I already asked her(me) and everything is staying as is just renewed".

Fannie will be as close to original as possible. I even like the crack in the dash...she's been through alot...she earned it, kinda like a laugh line. biggrin

Another little update. With lots of stuff(home, family and a little vaca) Fannie has

once again taken the back burner. She is always foremost in my thoughts but other

stuff seem to keep taken pirority. But I'm happy to say hubby has ordered some needed

parts for the front end and hopefully (fingers crossed) the front will some be back together

and the wheels back on.

Almost six months since my last up date, goes by quickly.

So the front end is back together. She now has brand new brakes, drums, ball joints and tie rod ends. The wheels are back on. So the next thing

that we want to do is cut off a few of the back b-mounts( they won't loosen up) and get her of to the b-shop to get those Texas quarters put on.

There are new stablizer kit and lines, etc. when she comes back from the body shop.

It's slow going but it's still moving. smile

Hope everyone is still healthy and getting their next projects in order waiting for spring to get here.

guess she still can't see the light from under that cover...hahaha

It's getting a little exciting to think that the body work will soon be starting....EEEEEEEEE!

I was considering a car that would need some minor body work and later full paint   I spoke to 4 shops close to me  The said maybe in a year or two ?   what the hell is that?   does no one want to work in a body shop anymore

There's a good little bodyshop here in town called Whetstone's Wheels. Dan, the owner is a good guy. I think he prefers working on the old stuff than doing collision work. He bought a late 80's Chevy truck and did a frame off on it to make it a "new" daily driver. Much cheaper than buying a new truck.
My kind of guy.

It's because no one wants to work,or when they do they keep feeding you elk sausage, work 3 hrs, charge for 8,that's why no one will give you a quote,so they can keep feeding you the sausage. And the other is they don't want to do the work, because they have no talent.Although good body men are always busy. It's tough alright.

We were suppose to have her to the b-shop by the end of Dec/12 but we missed that date, so he(Allen) took on another job...understandably.

Most of his work is collision work but he keeps a bay for this type of b-work. Allen seemed pretty sure that Fannie would be in the other bay by the end

of March or early April...so wait we must.

On the collision side, Allen is working on our new little Sonic. A friend of my mom's backed into it about two weeks ago so we decided to give the work to

Allen, a small independent that knows what he's doing.
