RE: Another diamond in the rough

I just talked to Tony its not his car he still has his so that means at least two black on black 66 SD 396 S speed cars were sold a Border Pontiac in the spring of 66 !!!

There was another car that a guy here claimed to own that I never followed up on didn't think it was a real storey but it again isn t likely this one cause he moved here from Quebec about ten years ago. Another one out in Fort Erie was suppose to be rough but this doesn t look rough bottom line sounds like I didn t know about it !

I was going to say that none of the names you dropped are connected with this car and I`m guessing there is three cars the same. Not so rare eh

So what the plan Kevin?   you have a few things to restore eyepopping.gif

This sweetie should fix up nice for about the price of your Shelby

thinking I should sell 3 of the 65 SD`s and keep the 66. You know I kinda like black on black cars

If your selling 65 SD's I'll take the one with complete rocker chrome.

my body guy took pictures as he was cleaning it up. I`ll see if I can get them from him to post. This will keep the rust in check and parts together till it gets restored.

Does it have disc brakes? I don't see that in the options but I see disc brake pedals? I have always believed that disc brakes were offered in 67 for the first time on Beaumonts but really unsure of this.

A cool one for sure. No for the "faint hearted" to restore. There's easily 1000 hours +$$$$$.

Thanks for the stats on the disc brakes guys. Was pretty sure they weren't offered prior to 67 but ever since this site has started I've learned that there are lots of rumours out there and they are often proven wrong.

a question about Disc brakes?

on a 67 ,i imagine you dont have to go with the 4 piston caliper ,would the later single piston (69 later one )work fine on the same set up with no modification?

I used the disc brake set up out of a 71 chevelle on my 67. It was a bolt on. No surprises.
