I have decided my 62' Pontiac Stratochief needs new tires.  I am looking for narrow white wall radial tires.  The size on the car now is 215/75R14.  Any suggestions about changing to an R70?  Anyone know of a manufacture with a tire like that?  Hoping for a Goodyear, BF Goodrich etc.  The only tire I have seen is a Hercules, any comments on that tire?  I was hoping not to have to buy $250 Coker American Classics.

I found that as soon as you went to R70's, you couldn't get white walls.

This was a couple of years ago though.

What I ended up with was Cooper Trendsetter's, 215/75/R14, with a nice narrow whitewall. I really like the look and the ride quality.

wal-mart also sells a few different narrow whites as well. i,ve got a set of 225 75 15,s on my 90 fleetwood that i,ve had on for 2yrs now. its a daily driver, through snow and slush too. i,ve got no complaints, and they were cheap too. i think around $105. per tire

I've got a set of Hercules on my Roadsmasher. they're a great all-around tire, quiet, seem to last a long time. I'm very happy with them.

Back in Mar 09 We put a set of 4 (plus spare ) 5 total Firestone FR380 A/S WW 98S
or 215 /75R14  our cost at the time from a local Integra Tire Dealer was
$78 a tire -- then taxes, balance,valve stems, tire levy
Total $511.88
3/4" whitewall, factor tires had a 1" whitewall
Seems like a good tire We enjoy the ride .....

I sold, Hercules tires for years     I have 4 on my Ratochief  and was having trouble with 1 of them  so I replaced it  wink

They are Armstong tires (US)  and very good

You used to get a white stripe tire on P225/70R-15 Goodyear for 88-89 mCaprice  and P215/70R-15 Michelin Symetry  on Lincoln   and P225/60R16 on later Lincolns 


no 14 inch
