well i am done, well everything that is getting done this year. interior, and airbags might follow in the future. but for now this is what i got, and i leave for osoyoos in 2 days. cut that a little to close for my liking.
well the summer is over for the car, 3000 kms in 3 months. was fun to drive but now it is time to start the build for next year. new motor and rebuilt trans and rear end. and air bags all the way around.
last day of driving the car i lost the alternator and belt. good timing eh.
side ways in the shop. lots of room to work on it now. see you all next summer, i will be the ass hole doing big burnouts and sitting on the frame. (cant wait)
well getting ready for the new motor, old one is out, and the new one is getting built and done for the end oct. now get have to figure out what i am going to do for a trans. think i might just just go with a th350 with a lock out converter. and if i can come up with the money i want to bag it too. it will at least get all new bushings front and rear.
finding alot of stuff on this car that would have given my lots of trouble if i had not started this motor swap.
broken manifold lead to broken bracket and lost alternator, good thing i happened close to home and last day of insurance. and not in kelowna 3 day before.

Whoa, that alternator twisted right off! When you said you lost the alternator I thought, oh well he'll buy a rebuilt ... but you really lost it!
Glad you had fun with your car, (3000 kms) and made it home safe. That's what it's all about!

In blue, your car reminds me of an unused 64 Laurentian 2 dr post that sat in a driveway just down the street from our house up to the mid 70s. I was a teenager with no money so I never made a play for it, or for the abandoned 409 Impala SS (rear end ripped out of the chassis) that sat at the bottom of the street. I've often wished I could have bought those cars and put the powertrain from the Impala into the Laurentian. Oh well ...
so i don't have any photos yet nut thought i would update the forum anyways, it has been a while. so after killing myself all last winter on the metal work and body and paint, i drove the hell out of the car for the summer, putting over 3000 km on her in three months. so after driving her i have decided she needed a upgrade. i now have a rebuilt 350 done for her, and just waiting for the trans to come out of the shop. with the motor out i thought it would be a good time to do all the suspension, so i am 75% way thought all new bushings and tie rod ends, well every piece of rubber on the frame will be new, she is going to be a new smooth ride this year. next winter will be interior. so once i am done the front end i will get some pics up.
ok i know that this is going to be a weak up date but i have finally had some time to lift my head and have some beers so here i am.
motor out and ready to go. seems like a long time ago now.
well carb and all is on and she is running and sounds good too. a lot has gone into this car and i have been in the shop a lot this winter. so here is what i have done, rebuilt motor, rebuilt trans, all new front end suspension, and exhaust. i have to stop now before i lose my wife. next winter. is rear end and i hope full air ride, i will try to get some pics of the motor done too
