Hi there....this spring for various reasons I am going to be selling my 1970 gto 455 born in canada........i have had it appraised and such for value but they never seem to be able to find comparables that have sold......besides the documentation i have from gm indicating this is one of 133 455's produced in canada that year it is the only one i have ever seen that is a two tone...with a metal top.....veredero green over pallisades green...as much as ive looked at all kinds of registries and websites i am yet to see another one in any color with the 455......so before i post this beauty for sale i am trying to determine just how rare this metal top combination is......have any of you come across one like it...just interested and any feedback would be appreciated.......thanks so much
I know a minty Nassau Blue and White roof 68. It had the chrome trim you would expect on a vinyl top car as well. 400 HO 4 speed, appraised at $18,500 in the fall of 2009.
Sounds like an interesting car, I looked at buying a 455 gto a few years ago, well optioned , triple red car, even had an 8 track.I still think I need to ad one to collection!!

yes this one has the custom chrome trim as well seperating the two colors...theres a picture of it in the 1970 registry on this site...parrothead in wiinipeg..car originally sold into saskatoon in 1070..not a great pic but gives the idea..you cant really make it out but has hood tach and spoiler as well......and yes i have seen a couple, not many, other year two tone metal tops but never another 70 455....never even seen this color combination elsewhere but tats impossible to track......i believe this car was custom ordered this way and literally is a one of one.....cheers
For what it's worth, there's been a 70 455 GTO on ebay for the past year or so that isn't selling. White with Red vinyl top, auto with spoiler and hood tach. Lately the opening bid has been $20K, but there's a reserve. Occasionally it gets a bid, but that's as far as it goes.

Maybe one reason it's not selling....wrong engine colour and don't paint the oil fill cap.
As for your 455...it all depends on what someone is willing to pay for it. Put it on Ebay with a high reserve and see what guys are willing to pay for it.
Will put it up for sale in the spring..maybe ebay maybe not.....but still curious if anyone has ever seen a two tone metal top 70 455 anywhere else.........

I can see your looking for rarity that will turn into $$$. I think if it was orange it would sell for more. Only my opinion. As long as your car is very nicely restored a buyer in person will pay more than ebay. Rarity doesn't always mean more money.
