Summit road trip over

Well "boys & girls" got back to blackstock around 5PM on Thurs. night, had a great trip to Ohio, met my friend from West virginia there, got all my parts I'd ordered ahead. Then we took off on Wed. to go to Lebanon Ohio, to pick up a trunk hinge from a former POCI member than I met on line in 2002 but had never met. We almost turned around north of Columbus as the snow was "wicked" & visability was 50' but drove out of it & made it to Ron's house around 11:30, stayed an hour & headed back to Akron [as Ron is in poor health] Left Thurs. morning from Akron, had no cars at border, went through the usual questions then they wanted to look in the back, with the Summit bill in their hand they looked at the boxes, gaves us back the bill & passports & said good to go!! After we left the customs & paid the toll, Brian said "good thing they didn't count the boxes, as your EZ wiring isn't shown on the bill," & I ""trashed" that invoice before we left the hotel!! Suburban ran great, got 22 MPG [US] had to use the 4X4 a few times, but, MAN is that comfortable on a long trip, now Brian wants one as well!! He's 6'4" had lots of leg room & even had a snooze on the way down.

Here's the "spoils" of the trip!! Set of 3:42 gears, + installation kit, set of headman headers, EZ wiring harness [not Summit] electric fan & wiring kit all for the 52 Torpedo back. The trunk hinge came from Ron Hoffman, a "former" POCI member in Lebanon Ohio. With the Cdn. $ at par it was worth the trip, I priced out the gears set with a BC co. & they wanted $280+ shipping, got it for $159 at Summit, Headers were over $500 here for the coated ons, $335 Summit So overall & think I saved a "PILE" + had a great road trip with my friend brian & our friend Rusty from West Virginia!!!!Picture 095.jpgPicture 098.jpgPicture 096.jpgPicture 101.jpgPicture 099.jpgPicture 100.jpgPicture 097.jpg

Summit fan relay & wiring kit/w/ stat. on & off was $45.00. When I ordered it, was going for the Painless one in cataloque, order taker sugested this one for 1/2 the price, "DUH YA" think you pay a premium for the "Painless" name!!1 EZ wiring harness is well made good, quality, & all wires are labelled in the insulation, Painless was $495 to $600, EZ was $185 US /21 circuit harness with fuse box etc.
