'64 Parisienne CS "barn find" - last on the road in '86 ... Owner Protection Plan booklet, original paint, original near-mint aqua interior, original aqua GM floor mats, original 283, factory posi, and original rust.
The following post is intended as a survey to see what the majority think about a GM Canada repro window sticker(s) and who would like one made for their car(s).
First, Thanks to both Carls and everyone else on the Happy Birthday wishes. I am a little late with my thanks because of my other projects.
I can do this stuff in moderation, 1 or 2 at a time. I don't want to get swamped with an overload of requests. But I will be glad to do what I can so long as it is legal and not fraudulent. Like the "GM Restoration Parts" logo on Carl's sticker. I will have to remove that or I will get into serious do-do with GM license rights. That's all right, I can still do stickers without that written on sheet.
I can do your car as it was originally or I can make a 6 cyl. model Pontiac into a V8 model Pontiac, if of course I have a note saying "This is not an official GM Canada window sticker document" and/or put "Tribute Car" or "Clone" on the Model/Marque line.
***STOP RIGHT HERE A SECOND!!!
I am reluctant to make any L79 Canso clone window stickers or Beaumont SD396 clone window stickers because of members here who have expressed concerns about the counterfeiting of L79 Canso type clones or other rare Canadian cars. (Mostly to protect the authenticity of cars in the L79 Registry).
If I make an "original" car window sticker then I must have proof from the owner requesting this. Proof could/will be in the form of a GM Canada historical document (with VIN showing, not blanked out) from George Zapora, or a pic of your VIN tag & cowl tag, or a pic of photo copy microfiche GM Canada "Monthly Production Run" for your car from George Zapora.
I really would prefer to make original-type window stickers for original-type 1964-1974 Canadian manufactured cars. Right now at present I only have 2 authentically-correct templates covering this time period. I am working on creating another single authentically-correct template that will cover Canadian models for years 1953-1964. Each year GM Canada only used one window sticker for all models, Acadian, Beaumont, Pontiac, Chevrolet, etc. They simply inserted in the blank space after the subtitle MAKE: Acadian, Pontiac, Chevrolet, etc.
Well, what does everyone think, should I proceed on this reproduction stuff or not? If I do proceed with this and if you want a sticker, to give me your car's info, pm me and I can give you my email address so you can email scanned document pics sent to me as attachments (inserted thumbnail pics in email are too blurry to read).
I need to finalize somethings before I proceed to start this service making window stickers. So please do not email or pm me with any more new requests for now.
I will make an announcement thread here on Poncho when I am ready to start and the Poncho site owner, Todd will then put a "Sticky" note here informing everyone.
I pm'd you after joining the board today. I have an Ontario sold 72 455HO Firebird in need of a window sticker. I have all the PHS and GM of Canada docs. Thanks, NJSteve
