I took a year off to work between high school and college (about 1981) to generate enough money to upgrade from my green '71 307 Chevelle. My upgrade would be to a 5 year older '66 SD. It was a "driver" from the beginning. And drive it I did, 12 months per year. Eventually I started parking it in winters. I relocated from Edm to Cal to Van to Ott. When I moved from Edm to Ott I sold it to a freind for the same amount I purchased it for...$2,500... with the premise that if he ever were to sell it, it would be to me for the same amount. When I moved back to Edmonton 2 years later, I bought it back. I'm told it's somewhat rare in that it is a numbers matching 327, PG, SD, rag. It's far from mint, but with the assistance of those here (Jerel, TinMan etc), it is complete. (With the exception of the SD hip-high moulding and the old radio that's in a box.) Oh yeah...and the original owners name on the Protectoplate is "Tempest" (who lived a block away from the house I grew up in.) How cool is that?

-I think I have gone the furthest to pick up a canadian poncho parts car. 2800 kms round trip to Gimli over a weekend pulling cars both ways with a really crappy dolly. -I have actually met Carl S! -I think might have the earliest Pontiac with AC -So far I seem to have the earliest Canadian Pontiac (in the registry here anyway) with a MK IV. (396) -I probably am the the person who has done the least on his car since I signed onto this Forum in late 2008!

iam generation X, When I was 17 and the Fox Body Stang and F Body Iroc Craze was on..... I had my 76 Trans Am. With honeycombs and an 8 track wih 1 dash speaker. My buddies were all like....whats with the Disco Bird? Why the 8 track? I cruised the drag with my Zepplin, barely able to hear the music through the original distorted speaker, Kept it 100% original and loved every second of the nostalgia that came with it. Where people had new stuff at that age....I was born old school,Some 20 years later and some 60 cars later. that is the one that stuck out, wish I woulda kept and the one Iam remembered by.
I like the car list and where it goes....here's mine (some were quick flips,some were purchased because of repair costs ) 1. 53 Buick 2 dr hd. stick, 2. 49 Ford 4dr. 2 deuces,55 Ford 4 dr., 56 Olds. 2dr. hdtp., 55 Olds. 2dr. hdtp., 58 Chev Biscayne 348 2dr 3 spd.,62 Biscayne 2dr. stick, 59 Morris , 63 Chev SS rag, 62 Ford 2dr post 406 4 spd.,52 Fargo PU, 69 T bird , 52 Ford PU-Olds eng.,64 Fairlane Sport Coupe, 76 Torino 2dr. hdtp. 77 Chev Impala 2dr., 98 Dodge 3500 Van,96 Merc Sable,62 Chev Impala 327 4spd , 64 beaumont 2dr hdtp....
As long as I can remember I've loved GM cars, especially full sized Chevys & Pontiacs. When I was a teenager we had a 64 Parisienne 4 dr ht, the nicest car we'd owned up to that time - for which we'd paid $100.00 - and the only V8 we'd ever had since I was born. Plus it was white on red. It had me hooked and so it was no surprise that when I had the chance in 1987 to buy a mint white on red 38K mile 65 Parisienne convt, I jumped at it.
My Dad's first car was my 64 rag top, brought me home from the hospital in 75 in it, our family car till I turned 16.....now my summer family cruiser....needless to say I was born a CP fan and will be one forever!!!!!!! And now I am catching a bit of a Beaumont bug
My very first car. Purchaced for $400 from my aunt in 77. Bought new from Leggatt Pontiac on Brant in Burlington in 69. This car towed a large camper on the Cabot trail...and blew the motor. A replacement was installed at a GM dealer in Sidney. Dream of it still. C'mon, silver on black, little rust but it was thought of as being junk then. Go figure?
My project car. Laying in wait. I'd love to get back to it. It would be a awsome car if it ever gets done. I have a ton of stuff for it.
My current Cp. Historic perhaps, but I've got a few plans for it this year.
Do I qualify?
I'm up and down with posting here...but I'm always checking in!
Cheers, Mark

I went from Vancouver to Nova Scotia to pick a car up so I have you on the distance thing. I'm oviously more stupid than you. Now there's something to brag about ehh? I think we all are equally crazy if you ask me.
I think I'm the only one with a 60 strato cheif wagon, and if not, maybe the only one on here that owns a pair of 60 Poncho wagons. And maybe I could lie and say I have a 65 Bel Air with a Canadian Poncho BB in it....LOL

Oh, and Fred (68SD), I would have to pick you (for doing the registry) and Todd (for starting this place) as the two with the greatest CP claims to fame.

My parents had a 69 Pontiac when I was a kid. Lots of fond memories of that car. I spent 20 years looking for a solid one. I found one and was frustrated at the lack of information online. The Yahoo Pontiac group had good people on there however I found it frustrating to navigate. So, I started a little Canadian Pontiac website called Canadian Poncho. Not long after we thought that perhaps the Beaumont, Acadian and post 1970 Canadian Pontiac guys were just as frustrated with the lack of online information about their cars so we added them into the fray.
It's a fun website. You should check it out sometime.
